Alyssa + Brayden’s Wedding at Superstition Manor in Arizona

Alyssa and Brayden’s Superstition Manor wedding had pretty much everything I love about an Arizona wedding day: beautiful mountain views, emotional moments, a little chaos, a really fun crowd, and plenty of time to actually enjoy it all.

Their story goes all the way back to high school. These days, Brayden is a firefighter and Alyssa works for the police department, which made getting to photograph this chapter of their story even sweeter.

Everything happened right at Superstition Manor, from getting ready and their first look to the ceremony, reception, sunset portraits, and sparkler exit. With full-day coverage and two photographers, we were able to document the entire day without rushing from one location to another.

A Wedding Day All in One Place

One of the biggest advantages of getting married at Superstition Manor is how much can happen right on the property.

Alyssa and Brayden could get ready, see each other for the first time, take family photos, have their ceremony, enjoy cocktail hour, celebrate at the reception, and sneak away for mountain portraits without building travel time into every part of the schedule.

Superstition Manor is an all-inclusive venue in Mesa with dedicated getting-ready spaces, ceremony areas, covered patios, reception spaces, planning support, catering, bartending, and décor options. It also sits right beside some of the most recognizable mountain scenery in Arizona.

For couples who want to keep wedding-day logistics simple, having so much handled in one place can make a huge difference.

Getting Ready + Their First Look

We started the day with both sides getting ready on-site while my second photographer and I moved between all the little moments happening before the ceremony.

Alyssa wore a gorgeous gown from Luv Bridal, and once everyone was ready, we headed into their first look.

A first look worked especially well for their timeline because it gave Alyssa and Brayden some time together before the ceremony and allowed us to finish their family photos ahead of time.

That meant once they were officially married, they could actually move into cocktail hour and enjoy the rest of their wedding instead of spending most of it taking formal photos.

A Superstition Manor Ceremony With Flower Dudes

Then it was ceremony time.

And this one had flower dudes.

Instead of a traditional flower-girl entrance, the guys made their way down the aisle tossing flower petals—and mini bottles of Fireball—to the guests.

So yes, the ceremony started exactly as it should have. 😂

Once everyone settled in, the energy completely shifted. Alyssa and Brayden had a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their friends and family, and it gave us a mix of genuine emotion, laughter, and reactions from the people closest to them.

Those are always the moments I’m watching for just as much as the big ones.

Cocktail Hour on the Covered Patio

After the ceremony, everyone moved into the shaded patio area for cocktail hour.

This ended up being one of my favorite practical features of the venue. Arizona weddings need shade, and having a covered outdoor space gave guests somewhere comfortable to hang out while still keeping that open-air feel.

Because we had already completed the first look and family photos before the ceremony, there wasn’t a huge list of portraits waiting for us afterward either.

That is exactly why I love building photography timelines this way when it makes sense for the couple.

Less rushing. More wedding.

Superstition Manor’s different event spaces each include covered patio areas, which makes that indoor-outdoor transition especially useful for Arizona celebrations.

Superstition Mountain Wedding Portraits

After speeches, we slipped away from the reception for one more round of portraits.

This time, we headed toward the side of the property where we had an incredible view of the Superstition Mountains.

And this is where the venue really shows off.

The mountains are such an iconic Arizona backdrop, and we didn’t have to load everyone into cars or disappear from the reception for an hour to use them.

We simply stepped away, made some magic, and headed back to the party.

For me, this is exactly what sunset wedding portraits should feel like: intentional, beautiful, and short enough that you still get to experience your own reception.

The venue specifically highlights its unobstructed views of Superstition Mountain as one of the defining features of the property.

As an Arizona wedding photographer, locations like this are exactly why I love getting to photograph weddings across the state.

A Packed Dance Floor + Sparkler Exit

Then we headed back inside, and the rest of the night was all about the party.

The dance floor was so much fun, which always makes my job easy. When the couple is actually out there dancing with everyone, the photos naturally become louder, messier, more energetic, and way more fun.

And after a full night of celebrating, Alyssa and Brayden ended everything with a sparkler exit.

Between the people cheering, the movement, the light, and the two of them running through the middle of it all, it was the perfect ending to an already packed wedding day.
